چکیده

Introduction: One of the most prevalent gastrointestinal ailments is gastric ulcer, which caused by an imbalance between protective and aggressive factors. Zea mays Corn a significant cereal crop containing natural phytochemical substances that are sources nourishment. The methanolic extract Corn, according to previous study, lowers stomach acidity inhibits percentage ulceration with no knowledge on mechanisms involved.
Aim: This study investigated underlying gastroprotective diet (ZD).
Materials Methods: Sixty male Wistar rats were used, randomly grouped into 6; 1(Normal control), 2(Ulcerated 3, 4, 5 (prefed ZD -55%, 65%, 75%) 6 (cimetidine- 25mg/kg) for 28 days. Gastric ulcer was induced oral administration indomethacin (40mg/kg) animals sacrificed after 4 hours. excised cleaned, it then homogenized centrifuged biochemical assays.
Results: There reduction in area all treated groups. Significant increase tissue mucin content mucosal SOD, NO PGE2 levels MDA observed cimetidine group. Histological evaluation showed tubular glands closely packed separated from each other laminar propia, however there mild presence inflammatory cells within propia groups compared ulcerated control group moderate oedema infiltration vascular congestion mucosa. macroscopic lesions inhibition 90%, 92%, 90% 92% (55%, 65% respectively.
Conclusion: Results obtained this suggests Zm may have anti-ulcerogenic properties enhancing antioxidant enzymes as well as, nitric oxide prostaglandin E2 mechanisms.

Gastroprotective Effect of the Aerial Parts of Tribulusterrestris L. against Indomethacin-Induced Gastric Ulceration in Rats

The gastroprotective effect of the different fractions of Tribulusterrestris L. was investigated in the indomethacininduced gastric ulcer in rats at dose of 30 mg/kg body weight. The petroleum ether and aqueous fractions hada significant gastroprotective activity, while the chloroform and ethyl acetate fractions hada moderate gastroprotective activity. The Protective Effect of Nortriptyline Against Gastric Lesions Induced by Indomethacin and Cold-shock Stress in Rats

Background: Gastric ulcer is among the most serious stomach disorder universally. Several effective drugs are employed in the management of this disease, although there have been adverse effects in some cases. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of nortriptyline to protect against gastric lesions, induced by indomethacin or cold-stress in rats. Methods: Gastric lesions were ind...

Indomethacin-induced gastric ulceration in rats: Protective roles of Spondias mombin and Ficus exasperata

This study investigated the quantitative polyphenolic constituents and gastroprotective effects of aqueous leaf extracts of Spondias mombin and Ficus exasperata against indomethacin-induced gastric ulcer in rats. Ulceration was induced by a single oral administration of indomethacin (30 mg/kg body weight). Wistar rats were pretreated with esomeprazole (reference drug) at a dose of 20 mg/kg body...

Protective effect of cisapride against indomethacin-induced obstruction of the gastric mucosal hemodynamics in rats.

We investigated the effect of cisapride, a gastroprokinetic agent, on the obstructed gastric mucosal hemodynamics induced by indomethacin using an organ reflectance spectrophotometry system in rats. Indomethacin (10 mg/kg, i.v.) reduced both the gastric mucosal blood volume and the gastric mucosal blood oxygenation. Pretreatment with cisapride (0.1 mg/kg, i.v.) prevented these deteriorations. T...
